Giving Back - A term which has replaced philanthropy, principally because philanthropy does not convey a sense of Socialist obligation to remedy the supposed, unequal distribution of wealth, resources, talent or just plain work ethic. When the wealthy want to mollify class envy, they will donate money for some community project, tax deductible of course, invariably describing their generosity as giving back. One question we are not permitted to ask is, "what was taken in the first place"? Of course we all know that those who make money must have either stolen it, inherited it, or simply won life's, luck-based lottery. The decisions that people make and the efforts they expend couldn't possibly determine the degree of financial success achieved, could they?

Outreach - In the general sense of the word, making a symbolic effort to remedy a perceived injustice, insult, omission or any kind of asymmetrical condition that involves race, gender or sexual orientation. If an educational institution or business entity is over 30% white, male, then an outreach initiative must be implemented to address the perceived disparity. Post outreach percentages are not necessarily a concern since they invariably leave white, males far less represented than their actual percentage of the general population. Universities are notorious even for limiting Asian enrollments, whom they perceive as too smart to participate in Keg parties and campus-lawn, rape picnics. And you thought it was all about getting good grades;>

Acceptance – Another word for compliance. It is very important to the left that you not only tolerate, but also accept whatever it is they are advocating. Any dissent is considered a threat to their sense of social justice, or more accurately, control over your lives. For instance, you may be tolerant of gays but if your place of worship does not embrace gay marriage, then you are still viewed as an obstacle to social justice. It also goes without saying that the acceptance and tolerance of your right to think your own thoughts and express them is strictly prohibited at a wine and cheese party.

Diversity – “E Pluribus Unum” - That Latin phrase literally means, “Out of many, one”. Up until we opened the flood gates of immigration to non-Europeans, while effectively strangling the flow of European immigration, that motto of the Founding Fathers was effectively realized. Despite the inevitable problems, things worked out pretty well, precisely because we more or less shared a common cultural, religious and historical heritage. We also recognized English as our Lingua Franca. Now we have an entirely different situation. Diversity, as defined by the left, does not mean the harmonious coexistence of people from radically, different cultural and religious backgrounds, and rightly so, since that hasn't worked all that well anywhere in the world. What the left means by Diversity is the supplanting of Western cultural values which they find offensive, along with the actual practitioners of those values. When Bill Clinton stated that he looked forward to the day when he was a minority in America, he was expressing precisely what Liberals see as their mission to fulfill this nation's promise. Only problem is, the Founders never made any such promise to begin with.

Multiculturalism – When it comes to culture, one person's Isaac Newton can become another person's Genghis Kahn. For instance, a feminist group on a college campus once compared Isaac Newton's Opus, “Principia Mathematica”, to a rape manual. Of course, most liberals would reject this as extreme, but there is no accounting for the warped, ideological bent of a radical professor of Black or Feminist Studies, who by the way, is grading your son's and daughter's term papers based on their acceptance of an absurd premise. If you thought that our similarities outweighed our differences, then wait until someone is foolish enough to invite Pat Buchanan, Clarence Thomas, Condaleeza Rice or a representative of the Minutemen, to give a lecture at your college campus. Columbia University brown shirts are noted for their zealous intolerance of mainstream, cultural identity.

Changing the world - If you ask a journalism student why they chose that major, they would tell you that they want to change the world, or make a difference. Now before you write this off as the influence of elitist, liberal professors, think about these world leaders who didn't have the benefit of attending Harvard - Alexander the Great; Julius Caesar; Cromwell; Napoleon; Lenin; Stalin; Hitler; Mao...get the picture? I think of journalism as reporting events as they actually happened, sans biased interpretation or strategic omission. News anchors today are 95% in the Liberal camp and up until recently, the public had few alternatives. Journalists are an arrogant lot and you would have to be if you thought an overpaid news anchor was going to change the world. I don't want to change the world and I'm very suspicious of anyone who does. Now what exactly are we changing?
